Report: Blackhawks D Campbell out for regular season after Ovie hit

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Brian Campbell will reportedly miss the remainder of the regular season after suffering a broken collarbone when Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin hit him from behind in Sunday's contest at United Center.

Ovechkin was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for shoving Campbell into the boards. According to a source from The Chicago Tribune, the defenseman will miss at least the rest of the regular season, if not playoff time.

Head coach Joel Quenneville said Campbell will be out for a while at a post- game press conference, adding that he would not be with the team during its upcoming three-game road trip.

The 30-year-old is in his second full season with Chicago after signing a long-term deal in 2008. In 67 games for the Blackhawks, Campbell has seven goals, 31 assists and a plus-17 rating.
